Ghana Loses in AfroBasket Opener

A Cyril Clarke led Ghana U18 side lost their first game against host Cote d'Ivoire at the Palais des Sports de Treichville indoor sports facility in Abidjan. Cyril had a game high 16pts and 6rbds while playing all 40 minutes of the game. Cote d’Ivoire won the opening game of the Zone III Qualifiers against Ghana on the score of 54-33.
From the start of the game, the Ivorians took things in hand and are led in the first quarter time by 13-4.
In the second quarter, the team of Ivory Coast, very alert in attack, maintains its dominance over their opponents. At halftime the score was 26-8 in favor of the host country.
On resumption, Côte d'Ivoire continues its race ahead and won the third quarter time by 13 to 8.
It was therefore no surprise that the Ivorian obtained the gain of the match despite the loss of the fourth quarter time 7-9.
