GHAPSA Basketball Proceeds Despite Rough Start

Poor organization; lack of  proper schedule and late arrival of officials on the first day nearly marred this year's GHAPSA basketball. Coaches and athletes from all participating schools had something to complain about on the first two days9either wrong information about their next opponent or a change of time of a game). Going into day three however, a proper schedule has been put out  by the technical board and all schools have been informed about all changes made to previous schedules.

This year's GHAPSA basketball has eight out of the ten polytechnics being represented; Tamale and Bolgatanga Polytechnics not here. Perennial polytechnic power houses; Accra and Takoradi have assembled assembled some of the best teams ever probably ever in a Ghanaian school sports competition. Both teams are blowing out opponents with ridiculous margins. The host, Takoradi Polytechnic, the Oilers as they have been named now, started the blowout galore with a 92 - 29 thrashing of Ho Polytechnic. Accra has played two of their 3 group A matches winning with an average margin of 91.5 points. They beat Cape Coast Poly 129 - 15.

Accra Poly girls however dominate in the girls event, beating beating Kumasi 87 - 9 in their fist game.

Games continue today at the Oilers' court at 6:30am. The men's schedule the for today;
Takoradi vs Kumasi - 6:30am
Ho vs Sunyani - 11:30am
Wa vs Accra - 2:30pm
Koforidua vs Cape Coast - 4pm
