Its been a cloudy and wet day but that didn't stop today's games from coming on. The court was wiped to dry and the game commenced. Everything was going well until the end of the third quarter of the first match of the day. Magic and Fire has their match rescheduled to 8am tomorrow after rains disrupted the game. THOME CABALAN 2010 DAILIES

DAY 1

Lebanon House - This year's edition of the Thome Cabalan Annual Memorial took off successfully yesterday at 2pm. The Silver Star sponsored event attracted a good number of fans, old players and several rarely seen people on the basketball scene to the Lebanon House.

Game 1 - Reformers vs Holy Family(Group A)

Reformers maintained their dominance over HF after beating them in the regular season. Holy Family lost 82 - 56 playing with a 6 man roster. The initial stages of the game took my mind back to Togo as the officials allowed more physical play especially in the paint.Tsagli and Ojoomi led the Reformers to the W after being held to a 14-13 first quarter. Tsagli got his rythym for the mid range while Ojoomi was 3-5 from behind the arc. Djimatey and Gemain played good ball for their team but will need the supporting cast to step up for them to make any head way in this tourney.

Game 2 - Police vs Turbo Jets (W / Group A)

A one sided game as expected, as reigning W league winners cruised pass the Turbo Jet ladies for a 63 - 29 win.

Game 3 - Tema Youth vs Warriors ( Group A)

By all standards, the game of the day. It looked like Tema Youth suprised the Warriors, as they run a different offense and not their usual 1-2-2 offense. But as usual TY looked the more organized side taking the first quarter 14 - 7. Varanda led the Warriors to an aggressive come back in the second quarter resulting in him hitting 5 0f 6 freethrows. Mohamed added more to the effort hitting three straight 3 pointers. Varanda's aggressive play resulted in him fouling out but the Warriors managed to tie at 40 by the end of the third. Ebenezer Borsah was phenomenal for TY going 6 of 8 from the trey. Mc Martey was also impressive on the boards and brought some excitement in the fourth quarter after slamming one home for his team. But even though the Warriors didn't give an easy fight, TY took the day 62 - 48.
